Darebin Libraries COVID Safe Summer

Northcote, Reservoir and Preston Libraries are now open.

In line with the easing of restrictions by the Victorian Government, our COVID Safe Summer sees us replace Last Step Restrictions, Express Library and Click & Collect. More details here. 

 

Other service updates:

  • Now restrictions have significantly eased, our rolling extension of due dates has ended. Please check your library account - via the Darebin Libraries app or our website - for the due date of any items you have on loan.
  • The return chutes are open 24/7 at all library branches.
  • Our digital library is always open and features a wide range of resources including eBooks, audiobooks, films, language learning, homework help and more.
  • Our virtual events program is jam packed with regular favourites like Rhyme Time and Storytime, plus a host of special events including author talks, workshops and school holiday activities for kids – details on our Eventbrite page.
  • If you have a question or need help to get started with our digital library call us on 
    1300 655 355, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.

When will you reopen?

Northcote, Reservoir and Preston libraries are open. Fairfield library is closed at present, please understand that due to the higher number of staff needed to operate library branches in a COVID-safe manner, we are currently unable to offer evening hours or offer services at Fairfield Library. We will update this page when this situation changes

Are there fines at the moment?
Until further notice, overdue fines will not accrue. Existing fines will not prevent you from borrowing. Lost and damaged items will still be charged to your library account, however at this time, an outstanding charge will not prevent you from borrowing.

How can I return my items? 
The return chutes at all libraries are now open 24/7. 

Can I reserve an item? 
Reservations are now available through the library catalogue. 

Are meeting rooms available?
Meeting rooms are currently unavailable. For updates, please find us on Facebook or check our website. 

When will library programs, like Storytime and Rhyme Time, resume?
In-person events, including children's programs, Conversation Café and author talks will continue to be delivered online only until further notice. Click here for more information about our regular programs or visit Eventbrite for special event information.
