To support community health and limit the impacts of coronavirus (COVID-19), Fairfield, Northcote, Preston and Reservoir libraries are currently closed.

In line with the Victorian Government’s roadmap to reopening, we are excited to announce that Darebin Libraries Click and Collect service is returning. To find out more please visit our
Click and Collect webpage.

We miss our community and are very eager to reconnect you with our physical library collections! Our library team are working hard behind the scenes to finalise the details of Click and Collect and ensure the health and safety of our staff and library members. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page or website for further updates.

In the meantime:

  • We have extended the due dates on all loans into late October and no fines will accrue during this time.
  • Our digital library is always open and features a wide range of resources including eBooks, audiobooks, films, language learning, homework help and more.
  • Our virtual events program is jam packed with regular favourites like Rhyme Time and Storytime, plus a host of special events including author talks, workshops and school holiday activities for kids – details on our Eventbrite page.
  • If you have a question or need help to get started with our digital library call us on
    1300 655 355, Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm.
