Other service updates

Loans of physical items were extended for the duration of 7 days throughout the lockdown, but any extension of due dates has now ended. Please check your library account - via the Darebin Libraries app or our website - for the due date of any items you have on loan.

The return chutes are open 24/7 at all library branches.

When will you reopen?

Fairfield, Northcote, Reservoir and Preston libraries are all open.

Are there fines at the moment?
Until further notice, overdue fines will not accrue. Existing fines will not prevent you from borrowing. Lost and damaged items will still be charged to your library account, however at this time, an outstanding charge will not prevent you from borrowing.

How can I return my items?
The return chutes are open 24/7 at all four library branches.

Can I reserve an item?
Reservations are available through the library catalogue. Log in with your library membership number and 6 digit PIN.

Are meeting rooms available?
Meeting rooms are currently unavailable.

When will library programs, like Storytime and Rhyme Time, resume?
We are now offering a mix of online and in-person events. Events in library branches will be COVID Safe with limited capacity, bookings are essential.

You can also access our catalogue of past online events on our Facebook page (you do not need a Facebook account to view these videos). Click here for more information about our regular programs or visit Eventbrite for special event information.
