Click and Collect – How-To Guide

The basic steps

  1. Reserve items via the library catalogue or Darebin Libraries app
  2. We’ll let you know when your items are ready to collect by your usual notice method. Reservations that were available before lockdown are ready to collect now.
  3. On the day you want to collect your items, book a same-day collection via the Darebin Libraries app or the Library Collect web page. Booking a same-day collection is only available during Click and Collect operating hours. 
If you don’t have the app, access to internet, a current Darebin Libraries membership or you have other access needs, please give us a call on 1300 655 355 Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm and Saturday 10am–4pm or send us a message – we can help.

Click & Collect Operating Hours*

Monday–Friday: 10am–5pm
Saturday: 10am–4pm
Sunday: Closed

*Hours are subject to change, based on community need and State Government restrictions. 

How do I place a reservation?

To place a reservation via the Darebin Libraries app

  1. Search for an item
  2. Tap to select the item you want, then tap Place reservation 
  3. Select your pick-up location and tap Place reservation again
To place a reservation via the library catalogue
  1. Log in to the library catalogue using your membership number and six-digit PIN
  2. Search for an item
  3. When you find the item you want, click on the menu icon in the right-hand corner of the listing (the icon with three horizontal lines)
  4. Select Place reservation
  5. Select your pick-up location and click on Continue
Your reservations can be viewed via the library catalogue or Darebin Libraries app



How do I book a same-day collection?

To book a same-day collection via the app

  1. We will let you know when your reservation is ready by your usual notice method 
  2. During Click and Collect opening hours, on the day you want to collect your reservation, open the Darebin Libraries app 
  3. Tap My Account 
  4. Tap Reservations 
  5. Tap Click and Collect 
  6. Tap I’m on my way 
  7. Select an estimated time of arrival (ETA) 15 mins, 30 mins, 45 mins or 60 mins
  8. Arrive at the library at your chosen time. Follow the signs and bollards and queue at the collection table.
  9. Please tell us when you're here: 
    • via the contactless intercom, or 
    • using the app or Library Collect web page, or 
    • write your name on the pad provided and hold up for staff to see

 

To book a same-day collection via the Library Collect web page

  1. We will let you know when your reservation is ready by your usual notice method 
  2. During Click and Collect opening hours, on the day you want to collect your reservation, visit the Library Collect web page. Note: Internet Explorer is not supported
  3. Log in using your library membership number and 6-digit PIN
  4. Click I’m on my way 
  5. Select an estimated time of arrival (ETA) 15 mins, 30 mins, 45 mins or 60 mins
  6. Arrive at the library at your chosen time. Follow the signs and bollards and queue at the collection table. 
  7. Please tell us when you're here: 
    • via the contactless intercom, or 
    • using the app or Library Collect web page, or 
    • write your name on the pad provided and hold up for staff to see

To change your collection day or location
  • If you can't make it, please call us on 1300 655 355 or send us a message to let us know
  • If you don't collect your item at your selected time, and haven't made alternative arrangements with us, we’ll return your item to the reservation shelf for the time left in your hold period
  • Click and Collect is available at all four libraries. If you would like to transfer your reservation to a library branch closer to your home, please call us on 1300 655 355 or send us a message
