Click and Collect

- 2020_Click-and-Collect_webbanner

In line with the Victorian Government's road map to reopening, we are excited to announce the return of our Click and Collect Service.

The service is returning in two steps.

Step one

We are currently offering a limited contactless collection service to customers who have a reservation available now. If you receive a reservation notification from us, it will include information about how to book a Click and Collect timeslot. You must make a booking to collect your reservation.

Step two

On Monday 28 September, we will open reservations and the Click and Collect Service to all library members. We are working to finalise these details and will update this page when more information is available.

More Information

We will continue to review our services and look forward to announcing what may change in line with further easing of restrictions.

For updates, please find us on Facebook and keep an eye on this page. Or, if you need to contact us, send us a request or call us on 1300 655 355, Monday to Friday 9am - 6pm.

Visit the Darebin City Council website for information about other Council services.

To find out more about COVID-19, please visit the DHHS website.

Now is the time to look after ourselves and each other as we work together to promote good health and lessen the impact of coronavirus. Though we’re apart, we will get through this together.

- 2020_Click-and-Collect_webbanner_FAQ

What is Click and Collect?
Click and Collect gives you access to physical library items, such as books, DVDs and CDs.
First you reserve the items you'd like to borrow. When we let you know that they are ready for collection, you click to book a timeslot (we'll provide you with a link) and then you collect at your booked time.

Where can I collect my items from?
Northcote or Reservoir Library (Edwardes Street entrance). Your items will be in the foyer at your booked collection time.

Can I browse at the library when I come to collect my items?
No, you can only enter the foyer to collect your items.  Access beyond the foyer is not available.

Are there conditions of entry?
Yes, please don't visit the library if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.
If you are unwell, please stay home and contact us to make alternative arrangements to collect your reservations.

Have you cleaned my reservations? Can I clean them?
Library items are not cleaned or quarantined when they are returned. We encourage you to be vigilant with hand hygiene when handling library items.

If you choose to sanitise items with plastic or plastic-coated covers, please use 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes. Please do not apply heat (including using a microwave) to library items as this will damage our tracking tags and may cause injury to you.

Can I return my items?
The return chutes at Northcote and Reservoir libraries will be open during Click and Collect hours. Return chutes at Fairfield and Preston libraries are currently closed.

Can I reserve an item?
Reservations are currently unavailable and will reopen on Monday 28 September.

When will you reopen?
Our libraries remain closed to the public as mandated by the Victorian Governnment. For updates, please find us on Facebook or check the Library Service Updates page of our website.
