IndieFlix Movies


IndieFlix gives you access to stream thousands of movies from independent filmmakers and more than 2,000 film festivals worldwide, including SXSW, Sundance, Cannes, and Slamdance. There is something here for everyone!

All you need to watch is your Darebin Libraries card number, a broadband Internet-connected device and a valid e-mail address so a verification e-mail can be sent. No checkouts, returns, or waiting. Multiple users can watch the same film on different devices at the same time.

IndieFlix is available on all Internet-enabled computers, tablets including iPad and Android, and smartphones through the web browser, no app is required. Many films are also available on Roku and Xbox. These films are not rated by the MPAA, so viewer discretion is advised.

Love a particular film genre? InstantFlix has a number of different Channels ranging from Action & Adventure to Zombies  - plus Family, Staff Picks and more. Whether you browse by film, channel or use the search box, you can always filter results by Time (film length) and Audience (Age).

Set-up Instructions:

If you have an account with Zinio to access digital magazines, then you are already registered and you can use the same e-mail and password.

1. If you have not signed up with Zinio then you will need to create a new account on the RBDigital Gateway.  A box will appear in the middle of the screen asking for your card number. Use the seven numbers on your library card to verify you are a Darebin Libraries customer. If this does not appear click on "Create New Account" at the top right of the screen, the instructions will be the same as above.

2. To register you will need a valid e-mail address and to create a new password for InstantFlix.

3. Click the Browse Films button to go to the IndieFlix page. Before you continue you will need to acknowledge the InstantFlix message noting that these movies have not been rated by the MPAA and some may contain offensive language, scenes of violence and sexual situations.

4. You are now logged in to InstantFlix. Browse the film collection by audience – family, teen, or adult – or by genre such as animations, romance, sci-fi, documentaries etc.  Or you can search by actor, director, or title. Click on the movie to watch the trailer or full feature.

• A computer connected to Internet. If your computer uses Internet Explorer as its browser you will need to have version 9 or above to view the IndieFlix site. If you have any issue viewing IndieFlix with any other browser please let us know.
• Also accessible on smartphones or tablets, from your device's the web browser (Android devices must support Flash).
• A valid Darebin Libraries number (used only when you create your account)
• A valid email address
